Digital Dentistry The Future of Dental & Oral Health Practices – Advance Dental Export

The human brain has always been quite interested and speculative in predicting and decoding the mysteries related to the future. Same is true with dental and oral healthcare.

When we talk about the future of the dental world and how it will sail with the technology, The very first question arises on top of all is, What is the digital dentistry?

Digital dentistry is the fusion of digital technology and traditional dental practices. In elaborative terms, when the study, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of oral diseases & disorders is being conducted with computer-based technology and modern scientific equipment, this whole process is known as digital dentistry.

At the current stage, the dental and oral healthcare industry is in between a transition from traditional dental practices to digital dentistry. And this transition has proven quite smooth and productive so far with enhanced positive feedback from the patients globally.

Advanced dental export(ADE) will emphasize some of the advanced digital mechanism that is already adopted and in practice as far as dentistry is concerned and few of them mentioned here;

Clinical Dental Study via Radiology – To study the existing health of patient’s teeth, dental X-rays (Radiographs) is the most preferred way. These X-rays are more environment friendly as they emit low levels of radiation to capture images of the interior of your teeth and gums as compared with traditional X-rays.

Cone-beam Computed Tomography Systems (CBCT) – Unlike the traditional CT scan that uses a fan beam in which transmitted radiation is in the form of a helix/spiral. The CBCT system is being used by dental professionals that rotate around the patient to create a 3D view of teeth and the oral anatomy, capturing data using a cone-shaped X-ray beam. Radiation exposure from CBCT is up to 8-10 times less than that incurred from conventional CT scanners.

Computer-Aided Design & Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) – The inception of cad/cam based 3D manufacturing has boosted the production of best porcelain crownsbridges, or veneers within least possible turnout-time.

Traditionally the process of dental restoration implant takes up to 3-4 weeks but now the computer-aided dentistry allows dentists to design, fabricate and insert dental restorations on the same day.

These are major adoptions that have already been in use now let us focus on the fact why the adoption of complete digital dentistry going to be an advantage for patients and dentists and to the whole dental industry as a whole.

  • The digital imaging and radiography ensure better communication among the patient, dentist and the prosthetic manufacturer. They can circulate the 3D impression, consult in realtime and design the best implant for dental restoration.
  • Digitally aided manufacturing especially the CAD/CAM ensures that the patient gets precisely accurate fitting implants while it also reduced the material wastage used to occur in traditional manufacturing.
  • Earlier for the accurate measurement the patients have to bite on 3D impression or a tray was inserted in their mouth but thanks to the 3D scanners now. You don’t need to do that as the scanner can do the needful making the whole process convenient for the patient.
  • Reduction in time and cost is a huge relief because of digital dentistry for all.

    I’ll always be. I make a new friend There’s a voice that keeps on calling me. Down the road, that’s where. Every stop I make, . Can’t stay for long, just turn around and I’m gone again.
